NatureRes works with organisations to design, deliver and translate ecological research that can inform real-world decisions.
Our experience spans farmland biodiversity, pollination, ecosystem services, heathland management and fire ecology, combining field ecology, experimental research, landscape-scale analysis, long-term monitoring and practical conservation.
We can work with partners at any stage, from developing a research question and designing a study, through to fieldwork, data collection and analysis, interpretation, publication and translating findings into practical management.
We have particular expertise in understanding how agricultural landscapes can support biodiversity while maintaining productive and resilient farming systems.
Our research has explored the relationships between pollinators, crops, semi-natural habitats and agricultural management, including the value of flower-rich and legume-rich habitats, the effects of agricultural intensification and the role of habitat quality, quantity and configuration.
We are particularly interested in research that connects ecological processes with practical land-use decisions, helping partners understand not simply what benefits biodiversity, but what works, where and why.
A central part of our approach is ensuring that research does not end just with a report or publication.
